RESOURCES FOR BREEDERS

Why and how to register my Highlander cat or my litter at the CCC?

Why?

The Animal Pedigree Act requires that all purebred cats living in Canada be registered and listed in a single Canadian registry. This registry is maintained by the CCC in agreement with the federal government.

You must have registered a cattery name exclusive with the CCC by filling the Request for registration of an exclusive cattery name form.

CCC membership and the request to register an exclusive cattery name can be made at the same time.

Then you must complete all pages of the Application for Registration of a purebred cat and HL cat description forms and sign both forms for each cat.

Pay the fees requested by check, Interac or PayPal.

If possible, attach a copy of your cat's registration certificate with your shipment. If possible, attach a copy of your cat's certified pedigree OR attach a copy of its parents' certified pedigrees.

If your cat is registered in a recognized register, the generations mentioned in the pedigree will be fully recognized. However, if your cat and / or both parents are registered in an unrecognized register, he will be awarded with the mention “F1”. If you do not have the documentation relating to your cat or if one of its parents is unknown, it will be classified HHP - for Highlander program.
